Padres News: Tyson Ross to Get MRI on Injured Shoulder
The drama filled 2016 season has taken yet another hit as the Padres ace Tyson Ross is still having issues with his sore shoulder. A.J. Preller appearing on the Scott and B.R. show (local radio/The Mighty 1090) this afternoon indicated that Ross is still having pain when throwing his two-seam fastball. He just had a bullpen session for the first time since reported the discomfort.
Very discouraging news for the team as it looks like Ross will be shelved for an extended period of time. With injuries to Yangervis Solarte and Cory Spangenberg the Padres are getting hit hard by the injury bug. The team will be challenged early on and new manger Andy Green will have to keep his team focused.

The MRI could reveal any potential damage. Hopefully it is just fatigued and rest will alleviate any issues for the big right hander. His injury could not have happened at a worst time for the team. Ross was sure to garner much trade interest this season, but now with a bum shoulder his value is plummeting.
The Padres will rely heavily on James Shields and Andrew Cashner to pick up the slack. The emergence of Robbie Erlin, Colin Rea and especially Drew Pomeranz have made the thought of losing Ross bearable. The team however cannot go the whole season without their ace, that would be too much of an obstacle to overcome.
