Padres EVT Podcast: Episode 65 with James and Patrick
Sorry for the break. Life happens.
We are back this week with a solo show.
Patrick and I first discuss our time at the SD Social Summit and the prospects game that followed. We were lucky enough to see many young players this weekend and all are very fresh in our minds. We give you a bit of info on some.
The PadresOnDeck game on Saturday was a delight, as the team showcased many of their top prospects.
Fernando Tatis put on a show and was assisted by great pitching performances from Jacob Nix, Adrian Morejon, and Michel Baez. The trio started the game out and were equally impressive on the night.
We speak about a few more prospects who caught our eye and I tell you a little bit about the game Saturday night.
The 2017 Padres season is over and the team wrapped with a 71-91 record. That record earns the team the seventh selection in the 2018 draft.
Wil Myers was discussed in length by the two of us in this show. We both are rooting for him and agree that he needs to make some changes. Can he implement the needed adjustments in the 2018 season? We will just have to wait and see.
I went on a San Diego Sports rant. Apologies, but that is something that I am passionate about. I just feel the San Diego Padres need to really do more to rally the fans of the city, especially since that other team left.
The Padres took some minor jabs from me, but all in all, the franchise is making so much progress it’s not even a big deal. The team has a vast responsibility to the city of San Diego and I am not sure if they totally understand that.
Thank you for the listen. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make t he show better. We love criticism.
