Padres Down on the Farm: September 7 (Lake Elsinore advances to Championship/Amarillo forces Game 5/Dust Devils lose Game 1)
The minor league affiliates for the San Diego Padres went 2-1 on Saturday.

Amarillo Sod Poodles (2-2) Won 5-1
Amarillo fought back from two games down to even up their series against Midland. Owen Miller and Luis Torrens both went 2-for-4 with one RBI each, while Peter Van Gansen hit a two-run single in the fourth inning. Starter Jesse Scholtens was on tonight as he pitched 5 2/3 shutout innings while striking out seven batters. Evan Miller and Travis Radke both pitched scoreless innings to force a winner-take-all Game 5 in Midland.

Lake Elsinore Storm (3-1) Won 11-2
Thanks to five scoreless innings from Adrian Martinez and an offense that pumped out 14 hits, the Lake Elsinore Storm are advancing to the Cal League Championship Series. Olivier Basabe and Tucapita Marcano both had big days at the plate as Basabe went 2-for-4 with four RBIs while Marcano went 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Tirso Ornelas continued to rebound at High-A with two RBIs to go along with a 1-for-4 day. Henry Henry allowed two runs in two innings pitched while Nick Kuzia tossed two scoreless innings.

It was smooth sailing for the Dust Devils all the way until the ninth inning. Hillsboro rallied against Dan Dallas and Tom Colletti for four runs with a three-run home run off of Colletti sealing the victory for Hillsboro. Nick Gatewood hit a solo home run in the loss while Logan Driscoll drove in the first run of the game for Tri-City. Starter Ignacio Feliz was impressive through six innings, allowing just a single hit while striking out seven batters.
