The minor league affiliates for the San Diego Padres went 0-5 on Sunday.
Here is a brief recap on the day’s events.

The Chihuahuas only managed four hits, all of them being singles, while going 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position. Meanwhile, Dietrich Enns pitched 3 2/3 innings and allowed five runs on six hits while walking three batters, tagging him with the loss. Amarillo Sod Poodles (71-66) Lost 10-7
Despite hitting five home runs as a team, the six runs allowed in the ninth inning resulted in Amarillo taking a hard-luck loss. Taylor Trammell, Owen Miller, Luis Torrens, Hudson Potts, and Brad Zunica all went yard for the Sod Poodles. Trammell’s shot, a two-run blast in the fifth inning, went all the way to the deepest part of the yard. All seven of the Sod Poodles runs came off of the long ball. Starter Jesse Scholtens pitched well, allowing just two runs on six hits while striking out seven in the six innings he pitched. However, Trey Wingenter blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning by allowing four runs, including three on a three-run home run.

Lake Elsinore Storm (72-65) Lost 5-2
The Storm took an early lead in the second inning thanks to an Olivier Basabe RBI groundout. However, a four-run third inning for Lancaster shot the JetHawks into the lead. Reiss Knehr pitched two shutout innings with a strikeout, but Felix Minjares entered after him and allowed a Luis Castro bases-loaded single that cleared the bases and allowed Castro to score after a Jeisson Rosario error. An Eguy Rosario sacrifice fly cut the deficit to two, but it was the closest Lake Elsinore got to tying the game.
Eguy Rosario: 1-3, RBI, K, E
Xavier Edwards: 2-5
Gabriel Arias: 2-4, Run Scored, K
Olivier Basabe: 1-4, RBI, 2B, 2 K
Felix Minjarez: 4 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K (80 pitches-53 strikes) Loss
Fort Wayne TinCaps (62-75) Lost 7-5
Omar Cruz surrendered five runs in four innings of work as three Fort Wayne errors led to a defeat for the TinCaps. With the outing, Cruz now sports a still impressive ERA of 2.76 on the season. Jawuan Harris, batting from the leadoff spot, went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run as well as taking two walks. Chandler Seagle went 3-for-3 with an RBI while scoring two runs. Austin Smith relieved Cruz and allowed two unearned runs in the two innings he pitched.
