The Chihuahuas dropped another game on Friday, as they lost to Tacoma 8-5. Jerry Keel was not adequate for El Paso, coughing up six earned runs in four innings pitched. The left-hander just did not have his best stuff on the night. Andres Munoz continues to be perfect in the PCL, throwing 1.1 innings of scoreless ball. He should be up son with the Padres. Both Franchy Cordero and Jose Pirela played for El Paso on Friday, and that leaves three players on the roster rehabbing. Francisco Meia has been with the team for a little over a week. Pirela homered in the game and Franchy leadoff going 1-for-5 with a run scored.

Hudson Potts, Webster Rivas, and Buddy Reed all went down in the last frame as the closer was clocked consistently in the upper 90s. Reed took a fastball on 0-2 for a backward K in the books. T.J. Weir made a start for Amarillo and was not his best allowing three earned runs in five frames of work for Amarillo. Catcher, Blake Hunt told EVT after the game that he was getting some cut-action on his fastball that was not by design. Perez was replaced on the mound by Angel Acevedo who took the loss allowing four earned runs in his lone inning of relief. Austin Smith had another positive outing on the mound getting the last 11 out of the game without allowing a hit. He only walked one on the day while striking out five.
