Padres Down on the Farm: June 7 (Campusano walks twice, Keel tosses 5.2 innings)
San Diego Padres affiliates went 1-0 on Monday.
Here is a recap of the dayās events.
El Paso Chihuahuas (Won 4-2 over Round Rock) (12-16 on the season)
Jerry Keel ā 5.2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 2 SO
John Andreoli ā (2-4) 1 R, 1 SO
Patrick Kivlehan ā (1-4) 1 R, 3 SO
Pedro Florimon ā (1-3) 2 RBIs, 2 SO
In the sole game for the Padres farm system, the Chihuahuas tied the series 2-2 with one more to go. With the injuries in the big leagues pulling pitchers from AAA, Keel was pulled up to fill in the gaps. So far, he has a 3.14 ERA in AAA, which is the best of his three visits to this level. In this game, he did enough to earn the win with 5.2 innings of one-run ball.
After Keel's strong start, the bullpen finishes it off, holding Round Rock hitless for the last 3.1 innings! #FearTheEars
