San Diego Padres affiliates went 4-1 on Saturday.

El Paso Chihuahuas (80-58) Won 3-0
The Chihuahuas beat Sacramento 3-0 on Saturday. Three pitchers combined on the shutout as Dillion Overton, Tyler Higgins, and Trevor Megill scattered five hits and two walks. Overton started and went six innings, striking out five batters. Megill recorded his 6th save, by striking out the side in the 9th. He has a 4.56 ERA so far in the PCL. Michael Gettys was the offensive hero as the outfielder went 2-for-3 with a triple. He has a .827 OPS on the year. Aderlin Rodriguez went 1-for-3 in the win.

Amarillo Sod Poodles (71-65) Lost 9-7
Amarillo lost 9-7 to the Arkansas Travelers on Saturday. The Soddies clinched a playoff berth yesterday and chose to use the game as a bullpen opportunity. Six pitchers hurled on the day for Amarillo as the team even recalled Aaron Leasher to make his Double-A debut. The lefty was a bit wild as he walked four and allowed seven earned runs in 2 1/3 innings pitched. Brad Zunica even pitched in the game for the Sod Poodles. The first baseman allowed a hit in his inning of work but recorded three outs. He was clocked as high as 92 mph with his fastball. Hudson Potts smashed his 15th homer in the loss. Every starter in the lineup recorded a hit in the game except for Owen Miller who went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Lake Elsinore Storm (72-64) Won 6-3
The Storm won 6-3 against the Lancaster JetHawks. Fresh off clinching a playoff spot, Lake Elsinore had 20-year-old Edwuin Bencomo on the mound. He went five innings and earned the win for the Storm. Bencomo struck out five in the game. Elliot Ashbeck and Cody Tyler threw the last four innings for the team. Tyler earned his first Cal League save in striking out three in two innings of work. Lake Elsinore only managed six hits in the game and was led by Xavier Edwards who went 2-for-3 with a double. Alison Quintero made his Cal League debut and went 1-for-4 with two RBIs. The 19-year-old catcher is another name to remember when it comes to the Padres catching depth.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (62-74) Won 9-2
Fort Wayne was victorious against the Lansing Lugnuts by the score of 9-2 on Saturday. The TinCaps got a start from 18-year-old Carlos Guarate who was recalled from the AZL League. He pitched really well, showcasing a plus curveball and a fastball in the low 90’s. Guarate struck out five in four innings of work. Dylan Coleman relieved him and went three innings, only allowing an unearned run. He has a 2.13 ERA and is throwing very well in the Midwest League. Dwanya Wiliams-Sutton is starting to show some real power as he slugged his 9th homer of the season on Saturday which was a grand slam. He has hit four dingers in his last ten games and has a .783 OPS on the year. Justin Lopez also homered and he has 13 on the year.

Tri-City Dust Devils (37-37) Won 8-7
The Dust Devils won 8-7 against the Spokane Indians on Saturday. Tri-City clinched a playoff berth, so they used the game as an opportunity to utilize their bullpen. A total of six pitchers threw for Tri-City in the win. Wen-Hua Sung earned the win after he pitched 1 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball. Dan Dallas got the save, his second of the season for Tri-City. Jason Pineda went 3-for-4 with three doubles and two RBIs. Matthew Acosta went 2-for-4 in the win. Tri-City went 5-for-11 with runners in scoring position.
