Padres Down on the Farm: August 11 (Cantillo makes debut for LE/Weathers pitches well for TinCaps)
San Diego Padres affiliates went 3-4 on Sunday.

El Paso Chihuahuas (69-50) Won 3-2
El Paso was able to hold off San Antonio for a 3-2 win on Sunday. Left-handed pitcher, Dietrich Enns earned a win as is now 11-8 on the season in the PCL. He has a 6.33 ERA after allowing two earned runs in six innings pitched. Trevor Megill saved the game for El Paso. It was his fourth save of the year in the PCL where he has a 3.27 ERA. Esteban Quiroz recorded two of the three Chihuahuas’ hits, and Aderlin Rodriguez drove in a pair of runs. Ty France went 0-for-2 with two walks and is hitting .403 on the season.

Amarillo Sod Poodles (62-55) Lost 6-0
The Soddies lost 6-0 to Frisco in a game where Amarillo failed to get anything going offensively. The Sod Poodles only managed three hits in the game, and that was clearly not enough for the win. Edward Olivares earned two of the three hits himself in the loss. Olivares is sitting with a .832 OPS and a .294 batting average in Texas. Ronald Bolanos allowed five earned runs in five innings of work. He now has a 4.95 ERA on the season in the Texas League.

Lake Elsinore Storm (61-57) Lost 3-1
The Storm lost 3-1 to Inland Empire on Sunday. Joey Cantillo made his High Single-A debut and pitched pretty well. He was awarded the loss after allowing three earned runs in 4 1/3 innings pitched. The lefty struck out seven in the game but did walk four. Elliot Ashbeck relieved the 19-year-old pitcher, and he went 2 2/3 scoreless innings for the Storm. Jeisson Rosario went 2-for-3 in the loss. Lake Elsinore only managed four hits in the game.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (53-64) Lost 8-3
The TinCaps blew a lead late in the game as they lost 8-3 to the South Bend Cubs. Ryan Weathers pitched well striking out a batter in five innings of work. He allowed just one run and now has a 3.59 ERA on the season in the Midwest League. Jose Quezada was charged with the loss after allowing five earned runs in 1 1/3 innings pitched. Henry Henry also was roughed up allowing two runs in 1 2/3 innings pitched for the TinCaps. Michael Curry doubled in three at-bats and has quietly amassed a .828 OPS for the TinCaps.

Tri-City Dust Devils (25-30) Won 5-2
The Dust Devils won a close game 5-2 on Sunday against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Nick Thwaits started the game and went five innings for Tri-City. He allowed two earned runs and struck out two in the game. Wen-Hua Sung struck out four in two innings and was credited with the win. Kelvin Melean went 4-for-4 in the game and has a .857 OPS this season. Tri-City managed 11 hits in the game and went 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position.

AZL Padres 1 (26-17) Lost 5-3
The AZL Cubs team beat the AZL Padres 1 team by the score of 5-3 on Sunday. Two late runs in the 7th inning were the difference in this one as Moises Lugo allowed two runs in two innings of work for the Padres. Chris Givin and Yerry Landinez both went 2-for-4 in the loss. The Padres struck out 14 times in the game. Matias Polanco and Emmanuel Rodriguez both struck out three times.

AZL Padres 2 (30-14) Won 2-0
The AZL Padres won a 2-0 game against the AZL Mariners on Sunday. Three pitchers combined on the five-hit shutout for the Padres. Carlos Guarate started the game, and the 18-year-old from Venezuela went five innings allowing only four base hits and one walk. He struck out three and has a 1.73 ERA so far this year. Michell Miliano relieved him and threw a shutout inning. Luis Eusebio saved the game going the final three innings for the Padres. Ripken Reyes was the hitting star. The second baseman drafted this season from USD went 2-for-4 and stole his 14th base of the year.
