Official 2025 MLS regular season schedule announced for San Diego FC
This Thursday, December 19, the official 2025 MLS regular season schedule was announced for all teams, including San Diego FC. SDFC will play its first game in franchise history on February 23 against LA Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
Galaxy are the current MLS champions, and this is set to be a very exciting start to San Diego’s tenure in top-flight soccer. San Diego’s first home match at Snapdragon Stadium will be played on March 1 against St.Louis City.
To many’s surprise, SDFC will not play against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami at Snapdragon Stadium or at all in the regular season. The regular season format is a round-robin schedule against opponents from the same conference and six games against opponents from the other conference.
Inter Miami was not one of the six teams SDFC will face from the Eastern Conference, which was surprising to several fans. The six teams San Diego will face from the Eastern Conference are Columbus Crew, Charlotte FC, Toronto FC, Chicago Fire, Nashville SC, and Atlanta United.

Another key matchup in the schedule is against LAFC, which are expected to become rivals as the season progresses. SDFC’s first encounter against LAFC will be at Snapdragon Stadium on March 29, while the first trip to BMO Stadium will be on August 31.
LA Galaxy’s lone visit to Mission Valley will be on May 24 in another game expected to be filled with fanfare and intensity.
San Diego’s last home game of the 2025 regular season will be against San Jose Earthquakes on September 27. While the last game of the season will be played on October 18 against Portland Timbers on the road.
The Leagues Cup against Liga MX teams is also set to take place from July 29 to August 31; however, no official dates or opponents have been set for SDFC quite yet.
