Happy Birthday 49th Birthday to Junior Seau (Video Tribute)
Junior Seau‘s 49th birthday would have been today.
Like Tony Gwynn was to the Padres, Junior embodied what it was like to be a Charger and represent the city of San Diego on a national stage.
He is greatly missed and will always hold a special place in the hearts of all Charger fans.
Enjoy these four videos.
Two of them show you the intensity he brought to the field in every game he played, while the Tonight Show interview will give you an idea of how gentle a soul he really was. The last clip is a remembrance of Junior by his eldest child. Sydney Seau spoke very eloquently about her father. You will get emotional if you watch that video.
The greatest linebacker in the history of the San Diego Chargers was a true class act, and fans will always remember their hometown boy who became a man in front of our very eyes.
He was a leader on and off the field for many Charger teams. He was an excellent teammate and friend.
Even though the team has now departed to Los Angeles, fans should still embrace the memories of the Chargers while they were here.
Through thick and thin, players like Seau put it on the line for us. He played the game with a type of intensity that will probably never be rivaled.
#55 will always be in the hearts of San Diegans.
Junior on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, 1994. Junior had such a magical quality about him.
People enjoyed speaking to him and just meeting him. He always carried himself with such grace and it was truly like meeting a god or warrior and speaking to him.
Another great video tribute to the warrior on the field. He was a fiery competitor and always demanded perfection from those around him on the field.
He was a coach on the field and helped cultivate many defensive players in the Chargers’ system. The man is an absolute legend in San Diego Sports history.
Here is a clip of his jersey retirement.

I hope you all enjoyed a glimpse into who Junior really was. These video tributes don’t do justice for who he really was, but they do give you an idea of it. The world lost a great man on the day he left this earth. All we have is memories now, and he created many for the fans of the San Diego Chargers. Rest in peace, Junior. We love you.
