Eleven more prospects scheduled to officially visit SDSU
Talent acquisition is ongoing at SDSU.
As the East Village Times detailed, the Aztecs hosted 11 official visitors last weekend. The university has announced six of those as signees. SDSU bolstered its ranks by adding punter Hunter Green, linebacker Tanner Williams, wide receiver Myles Kitt-Denton, EDGE Niles King, OL Abayomi Kannike, and tight end Jackson Ford.Â
Recruiting, though, never stops. This weekend, 11 more athletes are scheduled to be in America’s Finest City. Below is a list of the visitors and their potential fit with the Aztecs.Â
QB Bert Emaneul Jr (Central Michigan)
Career Stats: 27/51, 439 yards, 5 touchdowns, 844 rushing yards, 12 touchdowns
Explosive plays are one of head coach Sean Lewis’ chief goals for SDSU’s offense. In limited opportunities across three seasons at Central Michigan, Bert Emanuel Jr produced what Lewis is looking for. Among his 27 competitions, ten went for more than 20 yards, including longs of 56 and 48 yards. On the ground, Emanuel Jr produced a dozen gains over 15 yards.Â
In 2022, he played in four contests and preserved his redshirt. Due to his performance in one of those, he won the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week and MAC Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for a career-high 293 yards and three touchdowns. Â
WR Noah Robinson (Robert Morris)
Career Stats: 126 receptions, 1,640 yards, 11 touchdowns
Noah Robinson is a graduate transfer who should fit well in SDSU’s offense. In 2023, he had a breakout campaign, earning first-team Big South-OVC all-conference honors. He followed that with another first-team selection in 2024. This time, he was honored by the Northeast Conference after Robert Morris switched leagues. Robinson has the talent to produce three all-conference seasons in three different leagues in three consecutive seasons.
There are always questions about players making the leap to the FBS, but Robinson shows polish at the position, suggesting he will be up for the task. He has good speed at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, and catches the ball in multiple ways like a crafty veteran.
WR Trayvon Rudolph (Northern Illinois)
Career Stats: 153 receptions, 2,047 yards, 10 touchdowns,
The Football Writers Association of America and The Athletic named Trayvon Rudolph a freshman All-American as a kick returner in 2020. Rudolph returned 32 kickoffs for 717 yards that season. He started college during the Covid-19 pandemic, which gave him an extra year of eligibility. SDSU hopes he spends it in San Diego.Â
Rudolph has accumulated nearly 4,000 career all-purpose yards. He is an established FBS player and could line up at any receiving spot for the Aztecs. Speed is nearly a prerequisite to receiving an SDSU offer. Rudolph has it and utilizes it to create separation from the opposition. Possibly working in the Red and Black’s favor is SDSU plays on the road against NIU in 2025. One final game at Huskie Stadium might be too enticing to pass up.
WR Jacob Bostick (Texas A&M)
Career Stats: 1 reception, 14 yards
A national recruit in the Class of 2022, Jacob Bostick will be at his third school in three seasons, looking for the right place to showcase his skills. Bostick competed at Texas A&M last year after transferring from Iowa. On his high school Hudl tape, he showed the ability to match his heavy recruitment. Of note was how he high-pointed passes. If he chooses SDSU, he should be able to take advantage of the single coverage SDSU’s system provides.Â
OL Parker Mitchell (Richmond)
Parker Mitchell would be a favorite to be a day-one starter if he chooses the Aztecs. He has quick feet and a terrific motor. Size is his only question mark (he is listed at 280), but he more than makes up for it with how he attacks defenders. He competed at right tackle for Richmond and more than held his own against FBS opponents. Mitchell has started 23 games the past two seasons and has two years of eligibility remaining.Â
OL William Boone (Prairie View A&M)
SDSU has another right tackle visiting The Mesa. William Boone played the position for Prairie View last season. Before his stint there, he won a national title with Kilgore College. He has tremendous size at 6-foot-6, 340 pounds. SDSU’s stated goal for the offensive line was competitive depth, and Boone would be a great addition to the room. He shows good technique in dropping quickly in pass protection and has the experience to pick up on stunts and other tricks defenses use to create pressure.Â
DL Mackavelli Malotumau (Nevada)
Career Stats: 33 tackles, 3 sacksÂ
Defensive tackle Mackavelli Malotumau could return home for his final year of college football. He is from Oceanside and prepped locally at El Camino High. When Malotumau is at his best, he is kryptonite for offenses. A penetrating defensive lineman can stop any scheme, no matter the quality of the quarterback and skill position players. Malotumau’s motor, feel, and experience would make him an excellent addition.Â
DL Malachi Finau (Hawai’i)
Career Stats: 23 tackles, 4 sacks
Southern California is the epicenter for SDSU’s recruiting efforts, and the program is hoping defensive lineman Malachi Finau from Los Angeles wants to return close to home for his final two seasons of college football. Listed at 6-foot-2, 285 pounds, he has the size to play interior but might have the athleticism to play field EDGE. Finau prepped at national powerhouse St. John Bosco. He has a good motor, gets off blocks well, and is entering his athletic prime. He had a sack against the Aztecs this year.Â
EDGE Mathias Malaki-Donaldson (Mt. San Antonio College)
Career Stats: 24 tackles, 3.5 sacks
Another Southern California athlete, Mathias Malaki-Donaldson, is from the Los Angeles area. He was nearly a four-star recruit coming out of high school in the Class of 2022, choosing Oregon State over a plethora of offers. He was an outside linebacker for the Beavers but did not see the field. He transferred to Mt. SAC and was moved to EDGE. He has great size at 6-foot-5, 235 pounds, and possesses good athleticism. He bends well for someone his height and gets off the ball quickly. He would add depth to the room if he chooses to stay close to home. Malaki-Donaldson has a high ceiling that, if realized with the Aztecs, would put fear into opposing defenses.Â
LB Mister Williams (Incarnate Word)
Career Stats: 114 tackles, 3.5 sacks
Mister Williams was a national recruit in the Class of 2020. He prepped at Oaks Christian in Westlake, Village, CA, in the Thousand Oaks area. Williams ultimately chose Colorado and spent three seasons in Boulder before transferring to Incarnate Word. He has one year of eligibility and would compete for a starting role. Williams profiles as a WILL linebacker. His read and react skills are good. When he makes a decision, he attacks at full speed. Williams is an experienced special teams player and would add value in that phase.
CB Kai Rapolla (Cal Poly)
Career Stats: 54 tackles, 2 interceptions, 9 passes defended
Kai Rapolla is another So-Cal athlete potentially coming to The Mesa. He is a rising junior with two seasons left to play. Rapolla has good height, length, and terrific speed. He uses these traits to close gaps in the secondary quickly. Rapolla’s intelligence is what stands out most. Utilized in a variety of ways at Cal Poly, Rapolla has that sixth sense, understanding the opposition’s designs. He is a willing tackler and would make an excellent addition if SDSU is fortunate to earn his commitment.Â
My earliest sport’s memory involve tailgating at the Murph, running down the circular exit ramps, and seeing the Padres, Chargers and Aztecs play. As a second generation Aztec, I am passionate about all things SDSU. Other interests include raising my four children, being a great husband and teaching high school.
