Down on the Farm: Winter League Roundup- November 15- Peoria Advances to AFL Championship
The San Diego Padres had a total of 10 players in action on Wednesday night.
In Arizona, the Peoria Javelinas have advanced to the AFL Championship game. It will be played this Saturday on MLB network at noon PST. You will want to check it out, as the Padres are well-represented in the desert.
The team has one more game tomorrow, as the prep for the one-game championship. Expect to see Josh Naylor and Luis Urias in the lineup on Saturday.
As one league ends, another begins, The Australian Baseball League is just about to begin. The Padres will have four players participating in the league. Buddy Reed, Gabriel Arias, Lake Bachar, and Felipe Blanco will all play in the league. We will keep you up to date on that foursome.
There is still plenty of action in the Caribbean, as Franchy Cordero is getting plenty of at bats.
In Venezuela, Luis Torrens continues to get the most at bats of any Padre player. He is really making up for losing at bats while on the Padres’ bench in 2017.

Luis Urias was 2-4 with two runs scored, a double, and one RBI as he played second base for the Javelinas. He is at .315 for the year.
Andres Munoz threw another scoreless inning on Wednesday, striking out one batter, and now has an ERA of 1.04 on the season.
Walker Lockett earned the win, as the right-hander went six innings, allowing two hits and one run on 84 pitches. He struck out six and walked one, while lowering his ERA to 5.40 on the season.

MEXICAN/VENEZUELAN/DOMINICAN WINTER LEAGUES
Rafael Ortega went 1-4 with a run scored, RBI, and a walk. He is hitting .304 on the season.
Fernando Perez went 2-4 with two RBI and one run scored on Wednesday. The corner infielder is hitting .333 on the year in Mexico.
Jose Rondon played in his second game of the year and was 1-4. He is hitting .250 early in his winter league season.
Luis Torrens plays everyday for his Venezuelan team, and Wednesday was no different as he went 2-4 with a double. He was the DH in the game and is hitting .277 so far this season.
Alberth Martinez went 2-4 with two runs scored, two doubles, and two RBI. He is hitting .299 on the year.
Hansel Rodriguez threw one inning, allowing one run on one hit, while walking a batter and striking out two. The young closer is at 7.36 with his ERA so far.
Cesar Vargas pitched well on Wednesday, going 1.1 innings, allowing one walk and striking out one. His ERA is at 3.91 on the year.
