Down on the Farm: September 9 (Missions Advance/Chihuahuas Lose)
It was an exciting day of playoff baseball on Sunday, as both the El Paso Chihuahuas and San Antonio Missions played a decisive game five.
El Paso’s pitching staff was knocked around as they lost to Fresno on the road by the score of 10-1. The Missions were able to win in Corpus Christie, as they beat the Hooks 8-1 behind a great pitching performance of Chris Huffman.
Here is a look at the day’s action with some video of the win for San Antonio.
PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE
El Paso Chihuahuas Lost 10-1
Walker Locket allowed three runs in three innings for El Paso, and things did not get any better after he departed. Kyle Lloyd, Kyle McGrath and T.J. Weir all gave up at least two runs each in the loss. Only Seth Simmons recorded a scoreless appearance for the Chihuahuas. It was a disappointing end of the season for El Paso, who had many different players on their roster throughout the 2018 season.

It was an exciting game and EVT was there as Jeffrey Pilch drove hours to witness the game firsthand. He got excellent video of the game and will continue to cover the Missions and the rest of the Texas League for EVT.
Chris Huffman was solid for the Missions as he went seven inning, only allowing one earned run.
