San Diego Padres affiliates were 3-3 on Sunday.
Here’s a recap of the day’s action:
El Paso Chihuahuas (73-52) Won 8-7
The start by Colin Rea only lasted three innings, but he only allowed one unearned run in his start. Raffy Lopez led the offensive charge, with two hits and an RBI, along with two walks and two runs scored. Javier Guerra also had two RBI with a run scored, while Shane Peterson had three hits with a run scored and an RBI. Luis UrÃas also notably added a hit with two runs scored and an RBI. The pitching wasn’t great, but the offense was better and the team won the game versus the 51’s on Sunday. The team only walked twice, but they added enough hits that their patience wasn’t much of a concern during their game.
Raffy Lopez: 2-3, 2 Runs, RBI, 2 BB
Javier Guerra: 2-4, 2 Runs, 2 RBI
Shane Peterson: 3-4, Run, RBI
Luis UrÃas: 1-4, 2 Runs
Colin Rea: 3 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 4 K’s
Fort Wayne TinCaps (59-64) Lost 5-3
Mason Thompson made a decent start for the TinCaps on Sunday, as he threw five innings and allowed three earned runs. He didn’t walk anyone and struck out four in his outing for Fort Wayne. Right fielder Jack Suwinski had two hits and two RBI, while Jalen Washington smacked a solo home run. Gabriel Arias had a two-hit game, and Esteury Ruiz had a hit with a run scored. It was a loss in which the offense didn’t provide enough production to back up decent pitching. It was a largely nondescript game as the TinCaps played mediocre baseball in terms of pitching and hitting.
Jack Suwinski: 2-4, 2 RBI
Jalen Washington: 1-4, Run, RBI
Gabriel Arias: 2-4
Esteury Ruiz: 1-4, Run
Jeisson Rosario: 1-3, BB
Mason Thompson: 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 0 BB, 4 K’s
Tri-City Dust Devils (28-33) Postponed — Inclement Weather
The team didn’t play on Sunday due to weather, but check the schedule below to see who’s pitching tomorrow!
AZL Padres 1 (24-24) Won 10-9
Luarbert Arias‘ start for the team on Sunday was solid, as he threw four innings while allowing two earned runs while striking out three hitters. The bullpen gave up another six earned runs, but the team’s offense was good enough to hold up the lead on the night. Luis Almanzar had two hits with a run scored and an RBI, while Nick Gatewood had four hits with three runs scored and an RBI. Jaquez Williams also had four hits with three RBI in the victory, and Agustin Ruiz had a hit with two runs scored along with an RBI. The offense was so good that the disappointing pitching performance didn’t matter in the end as the team eked out the win.
Luis Almanzar: 2-5, Run
Nick Gatewood: 4-5, 3 Runs, RBI
Jaquez Williams: 4-5, 3 RBI
Agustin Ruiz: 1-4, 2 Runs, RBI, BB
Luarbert Arias: 4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K’s
AZL Padres 2 (23-24) Lost 7-4
Michell Miliano started the game for the rookie league team on Sunday, and gave up four earned runs with only four strikeouts in three innings pitched. The pitching staff ended up giving up seven earned runs in the game, and those runs ended up sinking the team in the end. While the team only managed six hits, and only walked three times, they did at least manage to score four runs in the contest. Sean Guilbe, Alison Quintero, Angel Solarte, Elvis Sabala, and Jarryd Dale had hits in the contest, but no batter was particularly impressive on the night.
Sean Guilbe: 1-4, Run
Alison Quintero: 1-3, Run
Angel Solarte: 1-3, Run, BB
Elvis Sabala: 1-3, Run, 2 RBI, BB
Jarryd Dale: 1-4
Michell Miliano: 3 Â IP, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K’s

Where did France walk off to? Ty France actually singled in the winning run with two gone in the bottom of the ninth. Looks like three or four teams in the playoffs this year.
