Down on the Farm: August 1 (EP steals 10 bags/Yost deals for LE/Benches clear in SA)
San Diego Padres affiliates went 3-2 on Thursday.

El Paso Chihuahuas (Defeated Oklahoma City 6-2) (42-63 on the season)

El Paso utilized small ball in full effect Thursday night. The Chihuahuas had 11 hits, all singles while swiping ten bags. The team scored three runs in the second inning off Dodgers starter Walker Buehler, who was rehabbing. He allowed Brandon Lockridge to single and steal second base in the fourth inning before leaving the game. Azocar singled in Lockridge following the pitching change.

Nabil Crismatt struck out six in his second win of the season. The Chihuahuas ‘pen kept Oklahoma City at bey, winning 6-2.
San Antonio Missions (Lost 1-0 vs Frisco) (45-52 on the season)
Austin Krob: 5.2 IP, 9 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 5 K (84 pitches, 53 strikes)
Ripken Reyes: (1-for-1), BB, SB
Austin Krob labored into the sixth inning, striking out five. His only run came in the second inning on a double from Luis Mieses. After getting a pair of outs, Krob allowed Mieses to reach on a groundball through the left side of the infield.
Teams exchanged words before the next batter before both benches cleared. Missions Manager Luke Montz, shortstop Ripken Reyes, and center fielder Connor Hollis were ejected, in addition to four RoughRiders coaches and a player. After the delay, Krob was pulled from the game. Raul Brito struck out four in 3.1 scoreless innings.

Fort Wayne TinCaps (Lost 5-4 vs West Michigan) (39-60 on the season)
Braden Nett: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 BB, 5 K (87 pitches, 50 strikes)
Joshua Mears: (3-for-4), 2 R, HR, RBI
Nerwilian Cedeno: (1-for-4), R, 2B, RBI
Griffin Doersching: (1-for-3), R, HR, RBI
Nerwilian Cedeno doubled in Joshua Mears in the bottom of the second. He reached third on an error, then scored on a wild pitch. Braden Nett was stellar through the first five innings, allowing just three hits, but West Michigan got to him in the sixth.
Top prospect Max Clark led off with a single. A few batters later, Thayron Liranzo, the primary piece in the Jack Flaherty trade, doubled in Clark. A wild pitch and a sac fly scored two more, spoiling a solid outing for Nett.

Eric Yost: 6 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 6 K (78 pitches, 56 strikes)
B.Y. Choi: (3-for-5), R, 2B, 2 RBI
Ryan Wilson: (1-for-2), 3B, RBI, BB, HBP
Lake Elsinore only had five hits on Thursday, but they made them count. Bryan Perez hit Jacob Campbell to lead off the sixth. Campbell was one of four players plunked by Perez, a Grizzlies team record by one pitcher. B.Y. Choi doubled off the right field wall, scoring Campbell. Choi then scored on a triple via Ryan Wilson, who reached base three times.

Eric Yost struck out six over six frames. Fresno’s lone run came in the third inning when Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones roped a single to center, scoring Ben McCabe. Jones is on a rehab stint in Fresno this week, recovering from a back injury, and will miss the upcoming series in San Diego. The Storm scored again in the eighth and ninth innings, including an RBI single from Choi.
ACL Padres: No Game

The game was suspended in the bottom of the second inning.

Joan Sierra drove in a pair of runs on a line drive double to left field in the bottom of the second inning. It was all the scoring the Padres needed in a shutout, including 4.1 scoreless innings out of the bullpen from Edinson Hernandez, who struck out nine in the victory. Sierra scored on a balk in the fourth inning.
