El Paso powered 19 hits and smacked eight extra-base hits in a 12-1 victory over Reno on Saturday. Jacob Scavuzzo, Ty France, and Michael Gettys all homered. Six total Chihuahuas recorded at least two hits in the win. Logan Allen pounded the strike zone in earning his first win of the 2019 season. He went six innings and only allowed one earned run to score. Robert Stock, Fernando Rodriguez, and Paco Rodriguez relieved the southpaw and were perfect for El Paso. Matt Batten is a name to remember, as the infielder has been playing well at the Triple-A level. The 23-year-old recorded three hits on Saturday out of the two-hole in the lineup. The Chihuahuas will be back at it on Sunday.

Amarillo Sod Poodles (7-10) Won 6-3
Cuban outfielder Jorge Ona powered two homers tonight in Amarillo and now has five on the season. He has developed slowly but is showing great signs this spring in the Texas League. The Sod Poodles took the game on Saturday 6-3, behind some timely hitting and effective pitching. Reggie Lawson threw five solid innings, and Emmanuel Ramirez picked up the save by throwing three innings and only allowing two runs to score. Andres Munoz pitched one inning in the game featuring a fastball clocked at 100 mph. He struck out the side in his inning but did allow a hit and a walk in his 22 pitches thrown. Luis Torrens and Hudson Potts both recorded two hits in the game. Rodrigo Orozco was 1-for-3 with two walks out of the leadoff position.

Lake Elsinore Storm (9-8) Won 7-2
After losing five straight, the Storm earned a win on Saturday in a 7-2 victory over Inland Empire. Cuban right-handed pitcher Ronald Bolanos was on the mound, and he pitched very well for Lake Elsinore. He struck out six men in 7.1 innings pitched. Evan Miller got the five outs and has still yet to allow a run in the California League. The right-handed pitcher out of Purdue has flown under the radar but could be a decent relief option for the team eventually. Lake Elsinore collected eight hits in the game, including three from leadoff man Jeisson Rosario. Jack Suwinski slammed his fourth homer of the year in the win, and Gabriel Arias recorded two hits. The Storm is off on Sunday. They begin a seven-game homestand on Monday.
