Three TinCaps were named to the Midwest League All-Star Game on Wednesday.
The 2019 Midwest League All-Star Game will take place in South Bend, Indiana, on June 18, and Single-A Fort Wayne will be represented by three players.
The announcement was made by the minor league club on June 5.
Edwards (Coconut Grove, Florida) will start the game as a second baseman. Through 50 games this season, Edwards is hitting .354/.411/.410 and has a 136 wRC+. A contact hitter who doesn’t show off much power, he makes up for his lack of power with plate discipline. Edwards has swung and missed at only 3.6 percent of pitches he has faced, the lowest swinging strike percentage in the league, and has a 10.5 percent strikeout rate.
Edwards is the No. 11 prospect in the San Diego Padres’ loaded farm system and just entered the top-100 list of all MLB prospects.

The Padres selected Weathers (Loretto, Tennessee) with the No. 7 pick in the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Through eight starts in 2019, Weathers has a 3.00 ERA and a 3.25 FIP, along with a 7.6 strikeout-to-walk ratio. His 2.23 xFIP is the lowest in the Midwest League. Weathers is the Padres’ No. 8 prospect and the No. 77 prospect in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100.
Henry (San Cristobal, Dominican Republic) was signed by the Padres as an international free agent in 2015. A relief pitcher for the Tincaps, Henry has a 2.57 ERA and a 2.87 FIP in 16 appearances (35 innings) during his second stint with the TinCaps. He has four saves over that span. Henry has amassed a 7.71 K/9, compared to a 1.80 BB/9.
The 55th annual Midwest League All-Star Game will take place at Four Winds Field (South Bend Cubs) on June 18.
