The Tijuana Xolos announced that Gustavo Bou was coming back from a loan spell at Argentine team Racing Club this past Saturday, Jan. 12.
Bou was previously rumored to join other Liga MX teams, like Leon, but will stay at Club Tijuana for the rest of the season.
The Argentine forward did not get much playing time in his recent loan spell at Racing Club, but is still a very talented player that can add a lot to any Liga MX team.
Bou had a successful stay with the Xoloitzcuintles in his first stint with the border city team from the 2017 Apertura to the 2018 Clausura season. The 28-year-old scored 10 goals in 29 games, seven of those goals coming in his impressive 2017 Clausura season.
The Argentine forward can play as a striker or a winger and can be key in solving the Xolos’ continuous offensive struggles that date back to last season. The Border City Dogs have not scored a goal in two games to begin the 2019 Clausura season and need all the help they can get in the attack.
Juan Martin Lucero and Erick Torres combined for just two goals scored last season and have continued to struggle. Bou adds a different dynamic to the attack as he is not a similar striker to Lucero and Torres, with much greater physical and technical abilities than either of them.

The Xolos face Leon away from home this Sunday, Jan. 20, and Bou could feature for Oscar Pareja’s side. The Colombian manager did mention that Bou is already training with the Xoloitzcuintles, but did not confirm that he will play against Leon.
