The minor league affiliates for the San Diego Padres were 3-2 on Sunday.

El Paso continues to roll as they continue to gear up for the playoffs. Francisco Mejia continues to assert his dominance in Triple-A by going 4-for-5 and hitting a two-run home run. Carlos Asuaje also had a RBI and three hits while Ty France grabbed two RBI. Cal Quantrill is looking good in Triple-A and sustained his success as he had a solid start, pitching five innings and allowing one run and striking out three. The hitters are catching fire and the pitchers are looking solid just in time for the playoffs.

San Antonio Missions (71-66) Lost 2-0
After clinching a playoff spot, the Missions loss today against the Hooks didn’t set them back anywhere in the standings. Jesse Scholtens pitched six and one-thirds innings and didn’t allow a single run, while striking out five batters and walking two, however it was Seth Simmons who allowed the two go-ahead runs to cross the plate in the two innings he pitched. The Missions left five men on base and didn’t get any of them into scoring position.

Lake Elsinore Storm (67-72) Won 4-2
A four-run third inning propelled the Storm to a third straight win and the bullpen held fast to hold on to the win. Edward Olivares got the rally started with a RBI single that scored, then Luis Torrens smacked a two RBI single to score Luis Guzman and Chris Baker. Capping off the rally was Brad Zunica, who got a RBI single to score Olivares for what would be the final Lake Elsinore run. Caleb Boushley was very effective through five innings, not allowing a run and striking out five. While two runs would score off of Ben Sheckler, David Bednar would finish the game to get the save.

In the second-to-last game of the season, the TinCaps couldn’t support Ryan Weathers and mustered only one run on five hits, while going 0-6 with runners in scoring position. Weathers only pitched three innings, but allowed only a single run on three hits while getting five of his nine outs by groundballs. An unearned run allowed by Gabe Mosser in the fifth inning was what ultimately did Fort Wayne in. The only RBI to come for Fort Wayne was a RBI groundout by Jack Suwinski in the third inning that scored Kelvin Melean.

Tri-City Dust Devils (35-40) Won 5-3
Tri-City snapped a four-game losing streak thanks to timely hitting and a strong starting pitching performance. Adrian Martinez had a great final performance, pitching five innings and allowing one run while striking out three and walking one. The Dust Devils got four of their five runs in the first inning on a RBI single by Justin Paulsen followed up by a three-run home run by Luis Ascuncion. Another run would score in the sixth inning on a RBI single by Tre Carter.
