It is almost draft time, so we bring on Kyle Glaser of Baseball America to discuss the latest on the 2017 MLB Draft.
We are less than 24 hours before the Padres select with the third pick and Kyle gives us his latest thoughts on the team.
The three of us discuss all the likely subjects as we talk about Hunter Greene, Kyle Wright, McKenzie Gore, Brenden McKay, and Royce Lewis.
In fact, Patrick even asks Kyle for a mock draft on the top-5, and he obliges with who he believes each team will take.
The Padres are said to be heavily interested in Gore, but Kyle believes that Hunter Greene is who they really want.
Each top-five prospect is discussed and analyzed one final time before Monday. We talk about Greene’s bat, McKay’s ability to hit, and the difference between McKenzie Gore and Hunter Greene as far as upside and ability on the mound.
We get a gut-punch from our guest, as Kyle refers to a scout who compared Royce Lewis to Donovan Tate. Needless to say, that did not leave a great taste in our mouths.
Whomever the Padres select, they will surely be satisfied. As long as they don’t turn out to be Tate.
Kyle is a native San Diegan, and the team holds a special place in his heart. We thank him for coming on the show just before the draft. He is a busy man and took time out of his day to talk to us. We are very much appreciative of him. Thanks, Kyle.
Thank you so much for listening to the show. We appreciate the support. If you have any questions or comments, please let us know.
