Down on the Farm: Winter League Roundup- November 3

The San Diego Padres had nine prospects in action on Friday night.

In Peoria, the Javelinas lost 7-2 to the Glendale Desert Dogs. They are now 12-9 on the year with a three-game lead on the same Desert Dogs’ team in the AFL West standings.

In other leagues around the globe, both Fernando Tatis and Franchy Cordero are in a bit of a slump. Both players did play on Friday as they further their advancement in their professional career.

ARIZONA FALL LEAGUE

Josh Naylor returned to action after a day off to clear his head. The first baseman has been in a bit of a slump, but went 1-4 on Friday to get back on the right track. Naylor is now hitting .286 on the season.

Luis Urias was 0-3 with a walk, as he manned second base for the Javelinas. He is now at .324 on the season.

CARRIBEAN/MEXICAN/VENEZUELAN WINTER LEAGUES

Rafael Ortega went 1-3 with a double, run, and a walk. He is hitting .240, early in the winter leagues.

Fernando Perez was unable to get a hit on Friday, as he went 0-3 with a strikeout. The infielder is hitting .351 on the year.

Franchy Cordero was 0-3 on Friday and is down to .293 on the year.

Luis Torrens had a nice day at the plate, as he went 3-4 with two RBI, two walks, and a run scored. The catcher is hitting .296 so far for his Venezuelan team.

Fernando Tatis Jr. was 1-4 with triple and a strikeout on Friday. He also made yet another error at shortstop where he has had some issues this season. Tatis is hitting .250 for his Dominican team.

Alberth Martinez went 1-6 with three strikeouts on Friday. The outfielder is hitting .299 on the year.

Eric Yardley proved that he is human as the right-handed reliever gave up his first earned run of the year. He allowed one run to score on three hits. He also walked two in his effort and his ERA is up to 0.77 on the year.
