The San Diego Padres are well into their winter, but there is still plenty of action to keep updated on.

Nine total minor leaguers were in action on Saturday night, including Josh Naylor and Luis Urias who were on national television. The MLB network aired the game between Surprise and Peoria, so many Padre fans got their first opportunity to see the Peoria Javelinas.

Peoria got out to a big lead, but gave it up early. The team rallied and won the game, as Luis Urias led off the top of the ninth, in a 10-10 game, with a double to left. Peoria won 11-10 and is now 15-11 on the season.

Jerry Keel and Andres Munoz pitched in the game, but had very different outcomes.

Around the rest of the globe, Fernando Tatis had the night off, but Franchy Cordero, Fernando Perez and Rafael Ortega all got some at bats.

PEORIA JAVELINAS

Josh Naylor had a nice night for Peoria, as he started his game with a double in the first. Naylor finished Saturday 2-4 with an RBI, walk and a run scored. He also struck out once on the night. Naylor has his average up to .304 on the year for the Javelinas.

As mentioned, Luis Urias scored the go-ahead run in the ninth after leading off the inning with a booming double to left (see below). Urias was 2-4 with a double, two runs scored, two RBI and a walk. He is hitting .319 on the year and has been playing excellent defense at shortstop.

Jerry Keel was roughed up a bit on Saturday night as he gave up four earned runs on three hits in his 0.2 innings of work. Keel was unusually wild as he walked two batters. His ERA has climbed to 4.63 on the season with a little less than one week remaining in regular season play.

Andres Munoz is amazing. The 18-year-old has a tremendous upside and is only now beginning to get a feel for pitching. He went one inning, striking out two and lowered his ERA to 1.17 on the year. Take a look at the video below of this young man. You ought to be very excited for his future.

DOMINICAN/MEXICAN/VENEZUELAN WINTER LEAGUES

Rafael Ortega went 0-4 on Saturday and lowered his average to .250 on the season. He did score a run on the day for his Venezuelan team.

Fernando Perez was 0-4, which is a rarity as the young corner infielder has been terrific this season. Despite the hit less game, he is still at .341 for the year.

Franchy Cordero was 1-4 with a strikeout on Saturday as he is now hitting .289 on the year.

Diego Goris was 0-2 and is down to .188 on the year. The third baseman has only played sporadically for his winter league team.

Jose Castillo threw a scoreless inning, allowing a hit and striking out one batter. His ERA is now at 4.76 on the season.
